Assistant Pastor, Rev. Valerie Stevens, is a General Licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and has been in ministerial work for over 20 years. She is one of the founding pastors of Abundant Life Church. Valerie has held ministerial positions as Worship Leader, Youth Leader, Sunday School Teacher and is currently the Sunday School Director.  From 2002 until 2010 Valerie worked at the Two Rivers Aurora Medical Center beginning first in Emergency Patient Access and later becoming the Medical Center Chaplain. As head of Pastoral Care at Aurora she was in charge of the Spirituality Team and instituted several new community progams such as the "No One Dies Alone" program, "Rememberance Services" for remembering lost loved ones and the "Blessing of the Hands" for Medical Center employees.

Valerie is a member in good standing with the American Association of Christian Counselors(AACC) and brings her vast Medical Center experience to Abundant Life with programs such as "When Mourning Dawns" grief and bereavement sessions, "Live Abundantly" life coaching and "New Hope Christian 12 Step" substance abuse program.
She has also ministered in the corrections system, spoken at various ladies ministries and has led prayer at ladies conferences.

Valerie and her husband, Pastor Scott Stevens, have done missionary work overseas and are very active with the UPCI Foreign Missions department. She has two sons and daughter-in-laws along with five grandchildren whom she loves and adores.
